Snow, Ice & Winter

Plan at least 4–6 weeks ahead. As soon as ice-out happens, every cabin owner calls at once. We prioritize existing clients and early bookings.

Book a month in advance. Freeze dates vary, and gutters, docks, and water systems need to be handled before the first hard frost.

We always triage safety and property risk first. If we’re at capacity, we’ll activate our subcontractor network and coordinate so you’re never left without help.

Bi-weekly is a smart baseline; monthly at minimum. Some policies require documented checks—ask your carrier, then match our schedule to their terms.

We use lake-safe practices: controlled pressure, surface cleaners on decks/docks, and biodegradable cleaners where needed. Softwoods get low-pressure care to avoid furring. We don’t blast algae into the lake.bed touch-ups included/quoted per site

Yes. We pre-treat, use a surface cleaner for even results, and rinse appropriately. Slippery lake-side stairs and dock approaches are common requests.

Shore-side setup/takedown, section assist, fastener checks, level tweaks, and light repairs. We coordinate heavy lifts, deep-water sets, or specialty systems with marine pros.

Timber & Shores Cabin Care was built on a lifetime of hard work, adventure, and problem-solving. Before launching this cabin care service, I spent years in construction—managing crews, troubleshooting projects, and learning what it takes to keep buildings standing strong through Midwest weather.
But the real test of grit came in Alaska. For years I led wilderness expeditions through mountains, coastlines, and icy rivers, where every decision mattered. Out there, you learn to read storms, fix what breaks with what you’ve got, and keep people safe when comfort isn’t guaranteed. Logistics weren’t just part of the job—they were the difference between adventure and disaster.
That same mix of mechanical know-how and logistical calm is what I bring back to the Northwoods. A frozen water line, a storm-downed tree, a plow that doesn’t show up—these aren’t just chores, they’re puzzles to solve. And I love solving them.
